These are the most popular Halloween costumes on Google

Unless you want to be the sixth Donald Trump or Yoda spotted at a Halloween party this weekend, a quick Google Trends search shows which costumes you should avoid.

It’s not surprising that the arguably most talked about man in America has inspired the top trending Halloween costume. Luckily you won’t have to spend the whole night discussing your political views, because Trump is the only 2016 presidential candidate to make the cut.

There has been a lot of Star Wars buzz with the recent debut of the latest movie’s trailer, and it has spilled over into Halloween. The characters you’ll likely be seeing most are Princess Leia, Storm Troopers, Darth Vader, ewoks and, of course, the sage Yoda.

Star Wars is also a prevalent theme among dog costumes, particularly ewoks, Yoda, and Chewbacca. Other pet favorites include minions and spiders.

Comic book junkies, beware of which costume you choose, because DC and Marvel characters are both popular this year. DC Comics villain Harley Quinn was the most searched for costume and, if Google Trends proves to be prophetic, will outnumber Batman costumes this year. Marvel superhero Scarlet Witch, otherwise known as Wanda Maximoff, will also be a popular figure.

Couples costumes are less relevant to today’s pop culture. Expect to see a lot of Bonnie and Clydes, Beetlejuice couples, and superhero and pirate couples. As for kids’ costumes, Mal and Evie from the Disney original movie, The Descendants, and PAW patrol characters from the Nick Jr. television show are expected to be big among the young trick or treaters.
