Eleven Republican presidential candidates convened on stage Wednesday night to debate the key issues facing America. Meanwhile, the Democratic frontrunners Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders were doing their own thing.
Clinton was working the late night crowd with Jimmy Fallon on NBC’s “Tonight Show.” Fallon donned his Donald Trump attire and dialed up Clinton in a tongue-in-cheek skit about the top political issues of the day (you can watch a video of the skit below).
Sanders, on the other hand, tuned into CNN with millions of other Americans and live tweeted the debate using the hashtag “#DebateWithBernie” — at least until he decided it was going on far too long, and called it quits.
Here are some of the best tweets from the U.S. senator from Vermont:
At a time when media looks at politics like a baseball game, will the serious issues be discussed tonight? Let's see. #DebateWithBernie
