Yesterday, we published a few choice quotes about Elon Musk from the new book about the Tesla tycoon, “Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX and the Quest for a Fantastic Future,” by Ashlee Vance.
Today, Musk says at least one of the stories in the book never happened.
An anonymous Tesla (TSLA) employee told Vance about an e-mail Musk sent him saying he was “extremely disappointed” that the employee had missed a meeting to witness the birth of his child and that it was “no excuse.” Musk took to Twitter (TWTR) to refute that.
@voxdotcom I have never written or said this. Ashlee's book was not independently fact-checked. Should be taken w a grain of salt.

It is total BS & hurtful to claim that I told a guy to miss his child's birth just to attend a company meeting. I would never do that.

Musk also took issue with a quote where he called himself a samurai, saying he has never used such a descriptor for himself.
However, he did not take issue with someone saying he told them he wished he didn’t have to eat, or that his ex-wife had reportedly called him a “Terminator.”
