That cars can be expensive is no surprise. The keys that unlock them? Not so much.

German company Selected Jewels offers a $46,000 diamond-encrusted key, according to auto blog Jalopnik. The super-expensive keys can be made to honor the flag of a country, for example, or consumers can opt for more muted silver. The key has 300 diamonds and an inset of either gold or platinum.

For the record, $46,000 could buy you two Honda Accords. But then you’d be stuck with two sets of humdrum plastic keys.
