After Senator Susan Collins and IMF chief Christine Lagarde kicked off the 2013 Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit in Washington D.C. Tuesday night with grim views of the dangers of the U.S. government shutdown, actress Glenn Close lightened the mood in high style. Taking the MPW Summit stage to disclose that she’s venturing into a new phase of her career, Close announced the formation of a new musical act: “The Bunny Boiler and the Low Bidder,” she said. Fans of her iconic thriller Fatal Attraction got the “bunny boiler” reference. Who is the “low bidder”? Warren Buffett,. The billionaire Berkshire Hathaway CEO who walked onto the Summit stage to perform two duets with his longtime pal Glenn.

Buffett and Close brought down the house, as Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg led 400 women leaders in a standing ovation.

With this year’s theme Breakthroughs in Leadership, the MPW Summit promises no more groundbreaking musical acts. But starting Wednesday morning and running until noon on Thursday, the program includes IBM chief Ginni Rometty (No. 1 on the 2013 Fortune MPW list), Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, Xerox CEO Ursula Burns Lockheed Martin chief Marillyn Hewson, General Motors EVP Mary Barra, Spanx founder Sara Blakely, entrepreneur Tory Burch, tennis legend Martina Navratilova, swimmer Diana Nyad…as well as Sandberg and Buffett.

The Summit is by invitation only, but you can watch interviews with all these leaders and see all the main-stage sessions livestreamed here.
