Science Inc., a Santa Monica, Calif.-based digital tech “studio,” has secured a minority equity investment from Hearst Ventures. All Things D reports the deal was nearly $30 million for around a 20% ownership stake.

Colabor Group Inc., the largest independent food distributor in Québec, has raised $15 million in equity funding from The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.

Trax Technologies, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based provider of SaaS invoice processing solutions for global shippers and transportation carriers, has raised $10 million in Series B funding from River Cities Capital Funds and Capital Southwest Corp.

Virool, a San Francisco-based self-service video advertising platform, has raised $6.62 million in “seed” funding. Backers include Thomvest Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Phenomenon Ventures, TMT Investments, DominateFund and FundersClub.

Method, a Toronto-based CRM app, has raised C$3 million in Series A funding from Klass Capital.

HStreaming, a San Francisco-based provider of “in-time big data analytics,” has raised an undisclosed amount of VC funding led by Atlas Venture.
