Janrain, a Portland, Ore.-based user management platform for social web portals, has raised $33 million in new VC funding. Millennium Technology Value Partners led the round, as first reported by TechCrunch. Split Rock Partners, Epic Ventures and Salesforce also participated, alongside return backers Emergence Capital, RPM Ventures, DFJ Frontier and Anthem Venture Partners.

Tongal, a Los Angeles-based social platform that lets marketers create video content, has raised $15 million in Series B funding from Insight Venture Partners.

ConnectSolutions Inc., a San Francisco-based private cloud service provider of unified-communications-as-a-service solutions for large enterprise and government organizations, has raised $10 million in new VC funding from Frontier Capital.

Convertro, a Santa Monica, Calif.-based platform to measure and optimize ad campaign effectiveness, has raised $5 million in Series B funding co-led by Bessemer Venture Partners and DAG Ventures.

Zirtual, an online service that matches professionals with virtual executive assistants, has raised $2 million in Series A funding. Backers include Tony Hsieh, VegasTechFund and Mayfield Fund.

Arctic Sand Technologies Inc., a Cambridge, Mass.–based power conversion startup, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Germany’s Dialog Semiconductor PLC. It is unclear if this announcement is related to an SEC filing last June that disclosed how MIT spinout Arctic Sand had raised around $6.6 million.
