Apollo Global Management has agreed to acquire AURUM Holdings Ltd., a UK-based luxury jewelry retailer. No financial terms were disclosed for the deal, which is expected to close in early 2013.www.agm.com

CDH Investments has dropped out of an investor consortium that is trying to take Focus Media Holdings(Nasdaq: FMCN) private, according to Dow Jones. The group said in August that it wanted to acqire the Chinese ad company for $3.7 billion, and included Carlyle Group, FountainVest Partners, China Everbright and Focus Media’s chairman. It is unclear what CDH’s exit means for the deal, or who would pick up its $200 million equity commitment. www.focusmedia.cn

Headland Capital Partners has acquired a 96.5% stake in YoungToys Inc., a South Korean toymaker targeting young children. No financial terms were disclosed. www.headlandcp.com

Investindustrial is nearing an agreement to acquire a 37.5% stake in automaker Aston Martin, after Indian auto group Mahindra & Mahindra pulled out of the process, according to the FT. The transaction would value Aston Martin at approximately £750 million. www.Investindustrial.com

Lone Star Funds is in talks to acquire German property company TLG Immobilien GmbH from the German government for around €1.2 billion, according to Bloomberg. TLG Immobilien owns commercial space, retail space and land in cities like Berlin and Leipzig. www.tlg.de

North Plains Systems Corp., a Toronto-based provider of enterprise digital asset management solutions for brands and publishers, has acquired VYRE, a UK-based provider of marketing resource management and brand asset management software. No financial terms were disclosed. North Plains is a portfolio company of Accel-KKR. VYRE shareholders included Maven Capital Partners and Octopus Investments. www.vyre.com

Prospect Brands LLC, a portfolio company of McCarthy Capital, has acquired Gerbing’s Heated Clothing Inc., a Stoneville, N.C.–based maker of heated clothing and accessories. No financial terms were disclosed. www.gerbing.com
