A-Gas International, a portfolio company of British buyout firm LDC, has acquired Reclamation Technologies Inc., a Bowling Green, Ohio–based provider of halocarbon management and sustainability solutions. The Carlyle Group has emerged as the high bidder for DuPont’s (NYSE: DD) car paint unit, according to Reuters. Carlyle reportedly offered more than $4.5 billion for the unit – an offer that rival Apollo Global Management reportedly refused to match or best. KKR and Onex Corp., who had been working together on a joint bid, already dropped out of the process. www.carlyle.com
