Agios Pharmaceuticals, a Cambridge, Mass.-based developer of cancer metabolism drugs, has raised $78 million in Series C funding. Backers include Celgene, three unidentified “large public investment funds” and existing shareholders ARCH Venture Partners, Flagship Ventures and Third Rock Ventures.www.agios.com

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 16

Marketo, a San Mateo, Calif.-based provider of revenue performance management solutions, has raised $50 million in sixth-round funding. Battery Ventures led the round, and was joined by return backers Institutional Venture Partners, InterWest Partners, Mayfield Fund and Storm Ventures. Happiest Minds, an India-based provider of IT solutions & services company, has raised $45 million in Series A funding. Backers include Canaan Partners, Intel Capital and company executive chairman Ashok Soota. www.happiestminds.com

Zuora, a Redwood City, Calif.-based provider of subscription commerce and billing solutions, has raised $36 million in Series D funding. Index Ventures led the round, and was joined by Greylock Partners, David Duffield (founder of WorkDay) and return backers Benchmark Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Shasta Ventures, Tenaya Capital and Marc Benioff.
