  • HP and Palm may introduce three models of the PalmPad, a tablet aimed squarely at taking down the iPad, at this January’s CES. All three will run a new version of Palm’s WebOS, and a fourth student edition, will be showed off later on. Other features will include: a weight of 1.25 lbs., a USB 3.0 port, a mini HDMI port, a front 1.3 megapixel camera and a rear 3 megapixel cam, both with LED flashes. (FOX News)
  • The FCC adopted the net neutrality proposal led by chairman Julius Genachowski that will govern how Internet providers treat Web traffic and services (but not wireless). (Politico)
  • Amazon is reportedly on track to sell more than 8 million Kindles this year, 60% more than analysts predicted. (Bloomberg Businessweek)

    Sources indicate the Sony Ericsson Playstation phone will likely be called the Xperia Play, unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in February and showing up on store shelves in April. The phone might also sport a super high-resolution display, as hight as 720p. (Fortune)

  • Twitter acquired Fluther, a “free Q&A collective” for an unspecified amount. Though the Fluther product will remain separate from Twitter, its team will be integrated into the social network’s staff. (PCMag)
  • Microsoft VP Achim Berg says there have been 1.5 million Windows Phone 7 phone manufacturer sales, which means “phones being bought and stocked by mobile operators and retailers,” not units actually bought by customers. (mocoNews.net)
  • According to comScore, time spent using traditional e-mail services like Yahoo and Hotmail fell 48% over the last year among 12- to 17-year-olds, potentially indicating a generational shift in the way people communicate. (New York Times)
  • Verizon announced the first phone to run on its 4G LTE network will come from Motorola, though details about the phone itself remain scant. (Wall Street Journal)
  • Over the weekend, Facebook began testing new filters that allow users to sort their News Feed (friends’ status updates, photos, links, and wall posts) in various new ways like “Games,” “Status Updates,” “Photos,” and “Links.” (VentureBeat)
