Adam Grosser recently stepped down as a general partner with Foundation Capital, after nearly a decade with the Silicon Valley venture firm. His move followed a summertime sabbatical, which had caused some to wonder if Grosser had decided on a different career path.
Seems not, as multiple sources tell me that Grosser is looking to launch his own fund. Further details are scarce, but I hope to have more info soon.
Grosser, profiled by Fortune earlier this year, had been one of Foundation’s reps on the board of Silver Spring Networks – once considered among the hottest IPO candidates for 2010 (less than a month to go in the year, and it still hasn’t filed an S-1). He has since transfered the Silver Spring directorship, along with all but one other Foundation board seat (Calix), over to remaining firm staffers.
I sent Adam an email at his old Foundation Capital account. It didn’t bounce, but he has not yet replied.
