Playwright David Mamet’s “Speed-the-Plow,” now on Broadway, had starred Jeremy Piven (of “Entourage” fame) until he stopped showing up for performances Tuesday and skipped town. “He told me that he discovered that he had a very high level of mercury,” Mamet told Daily Variety. The Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright followed up, saying:
“My understanding is that he is leaving show business to pursue a career as a thermometer.”
