[ SOUND ] [ FOREIGN ] It was a phenomenon. I mean, Sabado Gigante Internacional is gonna stay in the books as the most incredible show ever in Hispanic television. [ FOREIGN ] We work in a business that it's like one day you're here, the next day maybe you're not. [ SOUND ] What was the real idea of [ INAUDIBLE ] ?, The first doing the show on the side of the audience. It was a show that had a little bit of everything. And it was actually the beginning of hispanic television. Second was a mixture about games, music. [ APPLAUSE ] Interviews. > Thank you very much for having me. > Some dramatic moment and some very funny moments. Sabado Gigante compiles game shows The Price is Right, the Treasure Hunt, Let's Make a Deal. > And we put on camera a group of people that never we're on camera. That was the hispanic audience. [ FOREIGN ] 53 years Sabado Gigante has been a fixture in living rooms across America. Don Francisco, congratulations on an extraordinary career. [ FOREIGN ] [ FOREIGN ] Very quiet, but serving, but when the lights turn, and he's on the stage, he was another person. Totally another person that was Don Francisco. Well at the beginning were the fake people but after awhile there is a separation. A television host doesn't sweat, has no problem with his wife [ MUSIC ] He doesn't need to pay bills. He's always happy. He's ready to entertain. [ MUSIC ] When the televisions in modern Chile, he went in to ask for a job I think that's the most base that we. > Saturday, we were cleaning up the equipments. > So they said okay, we have eight hours, taken do whatever you want that's how Sabado Gigante started. [ FOREIGN ] [ MUSIC ] And he was the integration of the product and why they make so much money. What we did is the integration in the middle of the segment. We had sponsors in line for more than 25 years No more in line. The television has change. [ FOREIGN ] When I start, there were recognized nine million hispanic people in the United States. Today, there are 55 million. That's the biggest minority in the country. And every Saturday everybody would turn on their tv and would get something from their country. It was something very special. [ MUSIC ] The first international appearance of Shakera Was here. Enrique Iglesias started on Sabado Gigante. At the beginning, that was the only platform for a singer. [ MUSIC ] [ FOREIGN ] I think there are two particular parts of the show that'll always be remembered. Many Via listens [ INAUDIBLE ]. I know where the first time when they tells dance like Lolita. When I was facing the camera, I was okay with that. When they tell me turn around I look like a [ INAUDIBLE ] I'm like oh no no no wait a minute. I'm not like this. I didn't come here to move like Lolita. [ MUSIC ] [ FOREIGN ] When I heard that [ FOREIGN ] was what people liked the most, I was like wow. I was wrong. We are proud about the beauty of our women, why to hide that? It is are opinion. When you're in this business you have to be surrounded by young people. But Mario is getting older , and older, and older. [ INAUDIBLE ] Needing the same fuel. And I think that the last year I couldn't give them the complete fuel that San Fransisco needs. This decision of ending Sabado Gigante is not a decision that we took two months ago or three months ago. Mario and I personally have been talking about it the last three years. In 2012, when I reached the 50 years of Sabado Gigante, the company called me and they said you know, we will do another three years contract with you. But the last three years was a big change of television. At the end, the company said you know, we won't take the format. The show will end. [ APPLAUSE ] [ FOREIGN ] [ APPLAUSE ] [ MUSIC ] [ FOREIGN ] [ FOREIGN ] I have to say to you, to our viewers, that I am going to miss them very much. We did everything that was in our Capacity to do the best of our knowledge with a big respect to our audience. [ FOREIGN ] I don't know if television will go back to doing that kind of show. But we have to move on, that's television, you know. That's television. This would never happen, this history will never repeat again until, [ INAUDIBLE ] [ BLANK_AUDIO ] [ MUSIC ]
