Hi everybody. Thank you very much. I'm very excited. Very proud to be part of this celebration. All I can say is [ UNKNOWN ] by gosh, happy birthday, and happy birthday again. [ LAUGH ] And you know I'd love to be there, and I would be But I have a sore throat. [ LAUGH ] So happy birthday to Sumner Redstone. Sumner, I've known you longer than anyone in this room and after all these years I know that your many achievements and contributions to this world will leave their mark on this world for a long time. Time. Happy birthday, Sumner. Hope you have a very special birthday, and an upcoming year full of family and friends, great movies, stocks going up, and a baseball season that is very exciting until the end. Sumner Redstone, is, one of the, or if not the most accomplished creative, media entrepreneurs, in the 20th century. It is a very beautiful relationship that I have with him because his need to care is as strong as his need to win. So I want to add, happy birthday Sumner. Again, another beautiful birthday for a man who's going to live forever. God bless you, I can't wait to see you tonight. Hi Sumner, I wish you the best birthday ever. You have been such an incredible friend to me for over 20 years, and I have so many wonderful stories to tell first about you as my boss, but mostly about you as my friend. You were the most inspirational boss I've ever had, because you weren't just there for me in the good times, when we were having hits, you showed that you would be there for me in the bad times. You are an incredible friend to me, Sumner, I cherish the times that we've shared together, I cherish our professional relationship. I love your positive energy. I love your enthusiasm. I love the fish tank, and I just plain love you. So happy birthday, Sumner. You've always said you're going to live forever, and I really believe it. But I am truly proud to work with you and be your colleague and your friend. Happy birthday! What a great day Sumner Redstone's 39th birthday. Boy am I happy to be here. It's been great knowing you and look forward to the next 20 to 30 years together. Happy birthday Sumner. 27 years ago the day that you were born People began celebrating the fact that you're around and in their lives. And for me, I celebrated because it's the day my favorite person in the whole world was born. And I know that you've changed the world and you've impacted so many lives. And had such an influence on the world. But I personally have had such A huge life change because of you and what you mean to me, and everything that you've taught me and done for me and supported and all the love that you've given to me. I could never express the gratitude and how much joy I have in my life because of the person that you are. And it is your day today, whether you like it or not Sumner, happy birthday. I love you. I've been an admirer of yours. I've certainly seen the job that you've done. I've been the beneficiary of some of your wisdom. And I admire so much what you've done in the area of charity and what you've accomplished in business. And I remember that I once said that people that bet against Sumner Redstone lose. Happy birthday Sumner! Sumner, I remember you many many years, 35 to be exact. You were The most wonderful man I've ever met. The kindness that you showed me when my wife passed on, the letter that you sent me, I can never forget. You've made my life more happy. And I can imagine on this special occasion I wish you the best. The best for you. Now I see you on this special occasion with your family, my heart The happiness that I see I can't imagine to you I say thank you for being a part of my life and I hope I've enjoyed being a part of your life. Hey Sumner, I am actually so excited to have a chance to be able to say happy birthday to you. And, it, [ BLANK_AUDIO ] It reminds me of just how long you and I have known each other. And, it puts a smile on my face, to remember, that you and I met 39 years ago, when you walked into the office of Norman White At the Golf and Western building in New York City to talk about film rental settlements with Norman. And I was just this little gopher sitting there on the sidelines watching these two titans go at each other. And I think of all the amazing [ MUSIC ] Times that we've shared. All the incredible adventures that we have had. I am honored to be a part of saying happy birthday to you today. Well, Dad, I must say that celebrating with you has always been memorable. whether it was breakfast at Valleys before I went to school or ice cream sundays from Brickams with coffee fudge ice cream raspberry sorbet, lots of hot fudge and Jimmy's. My memories of celebrating with you are always at the top of my list. I wish you many more wonderful celebrations filled with family, food, love, great food, and wonderful times. Happy birthday, dad. Your ability to survive and resiliency has inspired me as a kid growing up in Boston. One of the first stories I heard about you is surviving that fire, at the Copley Hotel. When we first met you said a number of things that have resonated with me over the years. I remember in describing you accomplishment you said, success is born of failure.
