[ MUSIC ] When the heart of self by self was inter activity trade show and there is one over winding team this year it's for sure reality By the end of 2016, Piper Jaffray estimates there'll be 12. 2 million VR headsets in homes. Pretty much everywhere you go around downtown Austin this week, you're gonna find someone talking about VR or showing something on a VR headset. We're doing a virtual reality ride. It's getting serious now. [ LAUGH ] We put our hands in the air? The music industry is discussing what it's gonna mean for live concerts in the future? The fashion industry is discussing how is it going to affect sales? And the adult entertainment industry is looking for ways to fight piracy and to increase the engagement of its audience. The Arkansas Razorbacks have a room that's dedicated to virtual realty where the team trains when they're not on the actual field. Other teams that use this include the Washington Capitals and the Washington Wizards. It's also a great tool for fundraising. At a panel here at South Bi, Arkansas' coach talked about a time that they put a VR headset on an 85 year old supporter who'd always wanted to play quarterback. She took it off, gave them $ 100, 000. Other panels in South Bayer are talking about how to incorporate virtual reality in to their day to day business. Lufthansa for example talked about how they take a VR headset that shows the experience of being on their planes to trade shows. And show potential customers exactly what the experience is like on their planes. That saves the money. They don't have to bring the plain seats themselves. The first wave of VR titles are gonna be in the gaming industry, and those will start to hit really later this month sometime. You're also seeing some companies offer virtual vacations, so you can leave the snowy plains of your house and go visit the beaches of Miami without ever leaving your couch, Virtual reality is just getting started as an industry. But this year at South by Southwest you're seeing all sorts of different companies trying stake in early claim. [ MUSIC ]
