[ MUSIC ] The core thing that makes someone a good mentor is someone who takes an interest in you. Someone who takes an interest in you developing and learning. Mentorship is such a strange thing sometimes. It can feel really contrived. And so I really concentrate on creating friendships. You know trust relationships that you can go to with issues. But also just to sound off. A good mentor is someone who helps lend you their experience but removes their own perspective so you can can add your own. Someone who listens a lot, and is able to put themselves in their mentees shoes, and help provide some of the wisdom and context that they've picked up over their careers, but in a way that really helps that person figure out what the right path is, and not necessarily dictate what the right answer is that day. That can happen in so many different areas, whether that's A really good manager, whether that's someone from the outside who can provide a really interesting perspective. The more of those folks that you have, the better perspective, and the better you're gonna be able to approach those big decisions, in a good way. I think sometimes, also, we think of mentors as those who are older, or have more experience. And sometimes it can be your peer group. it should feel as close as a friend. [ MUSIC ] [ BLANK_AUDIO ]
