Walking around the show floor this year at CES, it seemed like everyone from automakers, auto suppliers, sensor and software companies, and chip makers, had their hands in developing the future of self- driving car technology. [ MUSIC ] All of these companies have varying levels of capability, but one thing is clear. The race to develop and deploy autonomous vehicles is on. [ MUSIC ] I'm sitting in NVIDIA's BB8 demonstration car which we're about to see their AI computing platform at work. As you can see, I'm sitting in the backseat, there's no driver, there's no one else. And we're gonna take a completely driverless ride. Here we go. [ LAUGH ] [ BLANK_AUDIO ] And it looks like they have an obstacle in place. This which is a hazard sign and let's see what happens in the decision that the car makes. And it successfully negotiated the hazard. So one thing that should be noted is this is just being done right now. Now with a single camera, correct? So explain a little bit of the difference between what might happen once this were to be on the open road and what type of technology would be in the car. It's clear that you need more than a single camera for autonomous driving, but what the demonstration wants to show here, and does very successfully, is the power of AI, the power of pilot nav With just a single front pacing camera can do all of this .>> But autonomy is not the only automotive story here at CES this year. Automakers were showing what happens when you bring the Internet, senses, cameras, and artificial intelligence inside the car. To give a more personalized experience for the drivers and the passengers. Bosch, Honda, Toyota, Mercedes are just a few of the companies showcasing what the connected car can be. [ MUSIC ]
