[ MUSIC ] Open Stack is a set of open source software, which means a whole community. Thousands and thousands of developers build this stuff. And it's for companies who want to have the advantages of cloud computing. But are still a little reticent about putting their data and application in to a public cloud which means it's un shared infrastructure. Open stack was meant to kinda replicate that pay as you go infrastructure but you could run it on your own servers or you could run it on a private cloud meaning you're not on shared infrastructure And that makes corporate people a little more comfortable. On the one hand it's kind of a take on Amazon. On the other hand it was a take on VM ware and virtualization, because VMware was seen as expensive and proprietary, and some of the big VMware customers said look, we can do better with open source.
