The United States is mulling a digital counter strike against Russia for meddling in the upcoming presidential election. Jeff, should the U. S. retaliate? Are you kidding me Bob? Of course the U. S. should retaliate look what Russia has been doing. They've been humiliating America in cyberspace, monkeying with senior political figures, and trying to throw the election. Where is it going to stop? It's time to draw a line in the sand. Well, hold on, I mean, this is a serious thing. If the US starts deciding, like, hey, maybe we're going to go counter strike and cyber attack Russia. Things could easily escalate into something far more serious army conflict, I mean the US and Russia are already going head to head in Syria. This could easily escalate to moving goods on the ground that could lead to deaths and a potential war. That was very serious scenario. Well Bob no one is calling for cyber world war III. No one is saying US should take out Moscow's power grid, knock off the subway system. No one's saying that. Instead, the idea here is a smart surgical strike to show that America can hack too. America can embarrass the Kremlin just like they're trying to embarrass the US, that's what we're calling for here. Smart and surgical. Hold on, I mean, this is political hacking, this is espionage. This is what America has done forever, and has allowed other governments to do. Where its drawn a line in the sand has been economic attacks and attacks effecting critical infrastructure. I mean that's why the US indicted five military officers in China. It's why they called out Iranian hackers for breaking into a dam in upstate New York. And it's why they called out North Korea for breaking into Sony pictures, but as far as I'm concerned this seems to be just regular old political hacking, I mean this is just espionage it's business as usual. That's where you're wrong Bob, this time it's not business as usual this isn't just part of the cyber game. This is more dangerous, more brazen and more sophisticated than anything we've seen before.
