[ SOUND ] What are the roadblocks in terms of getting federal legislation passed here? The roadblock is politics. Local law enforcement and local prosecutors generally very strongly opposed to cannabis legalization. Partly for cultural reasons, partly for bureaucratic reasons. Very few state legislators and very few members of congress wanna be on the wrong side of a law and order issue from law enforcement. So even though the public now is pretty solidly in favor of legalization for all users and overwhelmingly in favor of legalization of medical use. It's simply not moving through the legislatures, and I dunno what it would take for congress to act. And of course I don't know what the position of the Trump campaign was, if this is a matter that should be left to the states. But in order to leave it to the states you actually need congressional legislation. When my company worked with Washington State Liquor Control Board on their regulatory process and I had to keep reminding the state officials that we were in the position of issuing state licenses to commit federal felonies. It's not a good long- term situation. But when you talk about the cultural resistance, I think part of that is, I think people's minds immediately go to, our kids are gonna use it. And that, you say, that has been a problem. You think people instantly think of all the bad things that can happen [ INAUDIBLE ]? The explosion of heavy use actually is largely been adults. We're not even back to the 1979 level. Of heavy juvenile use but again we haven't seen a lot of marketing so one thing that's gonna happen with legalization at the national level is not only will this stuff be extremely cheap, you can grow it on corn farms in Iowa, I mean you could have a joint costing a nickel. Right. Before tax. But also you've got not just national marketing but national lobbying. And once cannabis producers or advertisers, they'll get treated a lot more respectfully on the editorial sect. Coca- Cola times ten, I can just see it now.
