[ MUSIC ] Vegas is swarming with members of NATO. No not that NATO but the National Association of Theater Owners. They've all gathered here to give a glimpse into the state of their business. And of case you haven't noticed, their business is Is changing rapidly, mainly due to growing list of viewing options in your living room. [ MUSIC ] Netflix arguably is the company that is having the most impact on the entertainment industry, and yet, you won't see them here. [ INAUDIBLE ] To understand why, we caught up with the head of NATO, John Fabian. Netflix has its model, it's called stay at home, eat all you want for one price a month video concept. That's not our model. Our model is about continuing to evolve ways where people can come to the cinema and continue to find, More innovative ways to get movies to the cinema, that people still wanna come out of their house in growing numbers and experience art forms. Luring people off of their couches and in front of the big screen takes a lot more than booze and reclining chairs. There's so much going on technologically right now that we're never quite sure which one of these is gonna be with us for the long term, right? But in addition to laser illuminated projection, We are experimenting with high dynamic range, what does that mean? It means there are new technology coming to make the black really black and the white really white and the image just pops out on you. We are looking at higher frame rate we had a couple of experiment with Hobbit and other movies and there are more film makers looking to test that. The beauty of a digital world Enabled so many other innovations, and we'll test them all. We'll experiment with them all. And the innovations that really improve the experience for our customers and keep them coming back and coming back more, those are the technologies that we'll stick with. Time over time, the theater industry has had to grapple with Some change, let's see how they keep up this time. [ MUSIC ]
