But some new information from John Gruber at Daring Fireball could give a little more insight to the Cupertino company's latest creation. Gruber's report provides tons of thoughtful musings to back up the following claim. Apple's aluminum and glass watch called the apple watch sport will start at $ 349. It's stainless steel and sapphire crystal watch, the Apple Watch will start at $ 999 and the 18 carat gold and sapphire crystal watch, the Apple watch edition will start at a whopping $ 4999. The report points to comparable watches from Rolex, where a gold version costs, yes, more than $ 35, 000. Perhaps Gruber's not far off. That's backed up by Apple's recent hiring of former Berbery CEO Angela Arrins. Where she now heads off Apple's retail and online store experiences. If you're gonna sell a $ 5000 item, you're going to need someone with some sales chops.
