Tesla Just Introduced a New High-Energy Battery Pack

Tesla Motors has just announced a new battery pack for its cars that can make them accelerate more quickly and drive longer on a single charge. Tesla says that with the help of the new battery pack, their new model, S P 100 D, is the third fastest accelerating production car ever produced. The new 100 kilowatt hour battery pack is an upgrade from the previous 90 kilowatt hour battery pack, and customers that have the last battery pack can upgrade for fee. According to CEO Elon Musk, the new battery pack is close to hitting the limit of just how much energy can be packed into a battery of that size and shape. For now, the new 100 kilowatt battery packs will only be sold to the higher end range of Tesla cars, but the company says they'll eventually be sold for all versions of the model S and Model X
