Square Inc. Co-Founder Tristan O'Tierney Has Died

Tristano Tierney, co founder of Square Inc. Has died at the age of 35. His mother, Pamela, attorney, confirmed he passed away in Florida on February 23rd, saying a doctor called to tell her Tristen was battling kidney failure and had gone into cardiac arrest. Although Tierney says her son's death likely resulted from his addiction, she said, I don't have an official diagnosis. A square spokesperson told CNBC. Tristen was part of Squares founding story and we are deeply saddened by his passing. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. The former Yahoo and Apple engine had previously opened up about dealing with addiction on social media, though he did not specify. Oh Tierney co founded Square with Twitter's Jack Dorsey. He was brought on to develop the original mobile payment APP in 2000 and nine before leaving in 2013. He is survived by his three year old daughter and his parents.
