Snapchat is reportedly following in the controversial footsteps of Facebook and Twitter by introducing an algorithm. According to DG Day, the Apps algorithm will specifically serve as a gatekeeper between users and brands or publishers doing away with the chronological timeline people currently see. A publishing source tells did the day that it'll be the same model as Facebook. It's free for everybody to share content, but an algorithm will penalize some people and boost others. Snapchat has 100 million daily users and the move will likely allow the APP to charge brands and publishers for a better spot in their followers messages. For now, Snapchat is staying mum on the algorithm and the timeline for these changes is still up in the air.
