Sears Pulled Together $2 Billion in 10 Days to Shore Up Losses

Sears racked up a much needed $2 billion in 10 days by making a few deals. On Thursday, they announced they're selling their Craftsman Tool brand, A black and Decker, for about $900 million. It was just the latest asset sale for Sears, who have seen sales struggle in recent years. Sears Holdings has lost $10 billion since 2010 and $748 million in the most recent quarter. The company recently sold its lands in clothing brand stake in Sears, Canada, and raised billions by placing some of its prime locations into a real estate investment trust. And CEO Eddie Lampert hinted that more sales are likely. He said, Looking ahead, we will continue to take actions to adjust our capital structure, meet our financial obligations and manage our business.
