Microsoft co founder Paul Allen has died. The 65 year old passed away from complications of non Hodgkin's lymphoma, according to his family. Many have called Alan along with co founder Bill Gates, technology pioneers who helped launch the personal computer. Gates said he was heartbroken. In a statement released by his office, Gates described his friend as someone who wasn't content starting one company. He channeled his intellect and compassion into a second act focused on improving people's lives and strengthening communities in Seattle and around the world. According to the New York Times, Alan is credited for using his wealth to transform Seattle into a cultural destination. He was an owner of the Seattle Seahawks and the Portland Trailblazers. Allen stepped away from Microsoft in the early 19 eighties but remained on the board until 2000. In his own quiet and persistent way, he created magical products, experiences and institutions, and in doing so he changed the world, Satya Nadella, Microsoft's current chief executive, said in a statement.
