[ MUSIC ] Okay, so let's jump right in. Our first headline flop or fly Walmart made by Amazon challenger jet. com. Jeremy, what do you think? I think this is a flop for sure. It's difficult to tell where e- commerce is going in general. It's only been around for 20 years and certainly Amazon Has established itself in the lead, but Walmart has very deep pockets and bought very innovative new company. Mark Lory spent time at Amazon. And I think he's developed some interesting technology that Walmart will be able to put to really good use. And if nothing else, they'll be able to use the insight that Mark Lory has developed. Jen, what's your tip? I'm gonna say fly as well. Walmart really really needs e- commerce. They've been trying for so long and not doing that well at it. And jet. com, I think, is the first real company that people see as a real challenger to Amazon, and that's what they need. So, if you can really If Walmart can really compete on the same level as Amazon, that's gonna be a game changer. Andrew, I know you've got thoughts on this. [ LAUGH ] I actually agree with both of them. It's totally a fly, For that price, that sounds like a lot of money, but that's chump change for Walmart, so. At the same time, Not gonna make money until 2020. It's a $ 3 billion dollars .>> That was the issue. Yes .>> Still kind of a lot. But I'll take your point. Okay, McDonald's introduces chicken mcnuggets that are free of artificial preservatives. Jen, what do you think ?>> I'm gonna say fly as well. And I should covet this, I wouldn't eat them. I don't eat chicken. But I think anything you can do to give people the at least illusion that they're eating healthier is a good thing and People really, really care about not having antibiotics, not having preservatives in their foods so if they can feel better about chicken nuggets I think that's a fly. Yeah. Jeremy? I agree it's a fly, as well. I mean I don't think it's gonna move the needle- Not literally. [ LAUGH ] Terribly in a big fashion for them unless they're saying that McDonald's since they did like a big re- invent in order to push its stock price back up or share price. And is this gonna do it? Probably not, but I think any time you give a consumer something better to eat. That's like a really nice thing. And it's sort of strikes me as a smaller version of their breakfast all day. It's like, it got more customers and this will certainly solidify its base of customers. Maybe get some new ones. Yeah. Andrew? Flop. I completely disagree with both of you. I think nobody's buying a 20 piece to feel good about what they're eating. So yeah. Yeah, I gotta agree. I think it's too little, too late for McDonald's. All right, so next up, Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes presents a new technology. It's Called the Minilab. What do you guys think? Andrew, flop or flay? I think this is a flop. One of the things about Elizabeth Holmes is that I feel like at this point she's burned every bridge she ever had. And to ask people to believe in that company again, whatever they're doing, is just too much. So flop. Really quick, you guys. Flop for me too. She's banned for running a lab for two years. Just because if you make a minilab, I don't think regulators are gonna change their mind on that. [ LAUGH ] Jeremy? I agree, flop as well. This is an opportunity for Elizabeth Holmes to sort of offer some truce to the medical community, to doctors, to scientists, and she didn't do that. Basically people were upsold to a new product. The old one doesn't work, but Trust me on the new one. And I think that there's a truth gap that needs to be addressed and pretty clearly, and it hasn't been done. So it's a missed opportunity really. Absolutely. Okay last one, Ikea rejects Kanye West's offer to collaborate. What do you guys think, Andrew, is this a flop or a fly? You know I think this is a fly if you're Ikea and a flop if you're Kanye. I mean I don't see what Kanye can do for Ikea that it isn't already really great at, so just no thank you. No. Jim? Yeah, fly. They do not need Kanye. His business ventures haven't gone that great, although I did think it was kind of cute that they wanted to name a piece of furniture Yeezy. I don't think they need his design input at all. Well, I disagree. I think it was a flop. I think that Ikea, to me it's like they're brand of bland, and I think that they need to sort of affiliate themselves with someone young and hip. And maybe it's not Kanye, but it could be someone else, so. [ BLANK_AUDIO ]
