An Australian researcher claims to be the creator of BitCoin. Robert do you buy his story? No way. I'm very unconvinced by this guy, Dr. Craig Wright, he's come out and he's said, I am Satoshi Nakamoto. You know, he approached several news outlets the BBC, The Economist, GQ and he's provided some proof that he is this person. I don't buy it. Satoshi Nakamoto. The mysterious, elusive creator of Bitcoin. Nobody knows the identity. It's always been an open question. A big mystery that's hounded everyone forever. Ever since the first paper about Bitcoin appeared in 2008. People have wondered who could this genius be who brought us the Blockchain and Bitcoin to the world? But nope, for Craig Wright, I'm just not seeing it. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. I'll tell you what I believe. This whole thing is ridiculous. I'm tired of it. I'm so tired of this great search for Satoshi Nakamoto. I mean, come on. There was the New Yorker article from a few years ago. There was the Fast company's story from just after that. There was the Newsweek cover story. None of this seemed to work out, and I'm just tired of it. We've got the technology right in front of us. Forget the goose chase, you know? Yeah, that's a valid reasoning, but I think there's actually a reason why you would want to know who Satoshi Nakamoto is. Right now in the BitCoin world, there is an open war over who gets to control the block chain. The technology that underpins BitCoin. And if somebody were to step forward and say, hey, I'm Satoshi Nakamoto, their opinion could hold a lot of weight in In that community. They could start making decisions and people would respect them and look to them for leadership on moving the tech forward. Yeah, but it won't hold any power. The whole point of BitCoin is to be kind of a low D democratic technology. Once it's out in the wild, Can't be controlled anymore. Can't be centrally administered. Look, I don't know why we're so obsessed with this. I mean we use plenty of technologies that we don't think about every day. We don't think about their founders. Think about email. Do you know who invented email? No, not really. Do you know who invented the graphical user interface that's on every computer? No, we don't think about that. How about your cellphone? Do you know who invented the cellphone, and maybe we should know these people, but the fact is, we're still working on the technologies to make them better. Look, forget BitCoin, forget Satoshi Nakamoto, focus on block chain, right, that's the real action there. Banks are using it create their own digital currencies that aren't BitCoin, or using it to improve the smart grid. Hospitals, Even the structure of the Internet itself. So to me, forget this Satoshi Nakamoto stuff. Hey I totally agree with you. The blockchain is poised to radically change the entire way the world interacts and transacts with one another. But I also think because of that, people have a right to ask Where did this thing come from? Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? People love mysteries, people love detective stories, and as long as this is a question, we're gonna keep speculating about it.
