Hello, I'm Alex Mchale Health and Wellness reporter at Fortune Magazine and I'm here at Pervo in New York City to get a full body. MRI, come on with me. Magnetic Resonance imaging or MRI is a medical screening technique that produces highly detailed scans of the body and can detect abnormalities like aneurysms and cancers. MRI scans at PER NUVO are not covered by insurance and are purely elective. In recent months. Endorsements from celebrity influencers have brought these elective procedures to public attention with some criticizing the steep cost and questioning just how useful they are for healthy people. The scan itself is about an hour with results typically available within five days. So a few weeks later, I'm back at Pervo to sit down with Erika Ferreira, a senior MRI technologist to discuss my results. We kind of want to shift the health paradigm from being a reactive kind of approach to a proactive approach or wanting patients to be able to empower themselves and to have all their images and decide what they're going to do for their health care. Walk me through what I'm looking at here. So you'll actually have all these images on your dashboard. Um So this is just would be um axial which is like cutting your brain from top to bottom. This will be a full coronal image, which is just your body slicing from front to back. And there are different weightings of images that give the radiologist more information on certain things, how they diagnose and what um certain things look like in the body. This would be a side view of your whole spine there. Normally you do need a physician referral to get any sort of diagnostic imaging. So we do provide nurse practitioner referrals. The patient can walk up to one of our clinics and book an appointment, get the full body scan. It is about 55 minutes that you're in the scanner and then within about five business days, you'll get your report done by the radiologist and they can take any of the recommendations that the radiologist gives them and kind of go from there. We can provide nurse practitioner follow up calls where the patient gets to speak with the nurse practitioner for about half an hour, go over the report and kind explain any findings that they need more information on and what kind of to do next. The next steps in their health care journey. If they do need any follow up care such as blood tests or certain diagnostic scans, they will have to do that. Otherwise, if a patient is fairly healthy, they'll usually come back within 2 to 3 years for their next Chernobyl scan. And how are you thinking about scaling this for the masses and really making this accessible for people who really might need it. There are some payment plans that we do offer for patients if they aren't able to afford it right away. We have nine standing clinics as of right now and we're just continuously growing as we grow as well. We are looking to decrease the cost. So it's more affordable for a larger part of the population. So then eventually where we want provo to go is, you know how you go to the dentist, you get a checkup, you go to your physician, you get a, just a physical, you go for your provo scan every so often, just ensuring that everything is working properly in the body and that the patients are living longer healthier lives and just having the knowledge to be able to provide the peace of mind to the patients as well.
