Thank you for having us here on thank all of you for being with us at the first Fortune Global Sustainability Conference. We're delighted to be hosting this event here in this beautiful setting. For all the reasons that party Secretary 10 outlined, uh, it it's filled with some of China's greatest ecological treasures with biodiversity on, of course, this magnificent and pristine lake Deep water lake sushi on. It's China's gateway to Southeast Asia and South Asia. You nine is a place that has embraced an ambitious economic growth plan based on sustainable development. Uh, this is an important moment for the issues we're going to be discussing here over the next three days. Jonathan has some fascinating figures that show how rapidly climate change is affecting global commerce, and I urge you to corner him and get him to show you those figures. But it's show. They show that we are at a critical moment. We're at a turning point for the issues we're going to be discussing over the next three days. This year, greater China, including Taiwan, had 100 and 29 companies, which is Maur than 121 based in the U. S. So you see in that list the remarkable change that's happened in China over the 20 years and why sustainable development here is such an important issue. We take great pride in our global events. We've been holding events in China for 20 years now. The first was in Shanghai in 1999. We've since been in Beijing, Hong Kong, Chengdu and Guangzhou, and we're happy now toe add, you see to the list. Uh, the other point I would make is that fortune is increasingly, ah, purpose driven organization. We really see our goal as making business better, and we mean that in every sense of the word, not only improving operations, improving profits, but in proving positive benefit to society.
