Chad, Etsy's revenues seem to be doing a lot better. The company seems to be hitting its stride after being in business for more than 10 years. What do you have to do to keep up this momentum? So one way we're gonna keep up our momentum, it's incredibly important, is we're making sure that our buyers understand that Etsy is something A platform that you can buy for your everyday needs and it's all about introducing Etsy as a site that you come to and a platform you come to to buy things in your everyday life. So I think, looking ahead, keeping that in mind, as an e- commerce buyer, keeping Etsy in mind when you're buying things like Furniture, clothing, and anything that fits in your daily life. It's very impressive that for such a young company that Etsy is operating in nearly 200 countries. Which pretty much is all around the world. Mm- hm. But the strong dollar works against you doesn't it? The Etsy business is very diverse. So we have buyers and sellers all over the world. About 30 % of our sales Happen outside the United States, so either a buyer or seller outside the United States. So while a strong dollar affects us in some places, for example, European buyers to U. S. sellers, by and large the Etsy marketplace is very resilient. But what happens once the Federal Reserve raises interest rates, which will make the U. S. dollar even stronger? Does that worry you? It doesn't worry me. I think that we'll get there when we get there. We watch things like interest rates and currency, but it's something that we'll have to look out for. You talk about the FC economy. What do you mean by that? So the Etsy economy is really an economy that's about everyone receiving value from the economy. I think when you look at larger retail, it's largely a race to the bottom. It's the lowest price. There's a lot of pressure on the supply chain as good are made. And we at Etsy think of an Etsy economy where The buyer gets a unique good that's really amazing and well done. And the seller's treated very fairly, too. So the Etsy economy is really about creating and economy where there are win wins across the whole supply chain. And what about this new competition that you're getting from Amazon? They've launched this handmade marketplace, which makes, Handmade goods very similar to what you have on Etsy. How are you dealing with that? We've dealt with competition for 12 years now. Etsy's been around for 12 years. We've had competition from Alibaba and eBay and others, so as anyone comes in the market, we really focus on the things that make us different. First of all, our buyers 92 % of them say they come to Etsy to find things they can't find anywhere else. So our buyers are coming to Etsy for that reason, and our sellers really appreciate the fact that we're focused on creative entrepreneurs. We don't focus on any other type of seller. And so our commitment to creative entrepreneurs and our commitment to providing merchandise That you can't find anywhere else really provides a competitive position regardless of who we're competing against. How do your sellers feel about competing against Amazon. Given that Amazon has this massive size and it's very popular with consumers. I keep hearing from our sellers that they care a lot about how Etsy treats them in the marketplace. There's really only one place On the Internet and that's Etsy where you're featured alongside other finely crafted merchandise. You're not competing with commodity goods or mass- produced goods. So that's something that our sellers really, really care about. So they feel like Etsy is very much a home for them, not just a platform.
