Welcome friends from the local and international design and business community. I hope you have been enjoying the amazing presentations and discussions taking place in our second edition of Brainstorm Design. This conference is a truly unique platform. In fact, it's the only one of its kind, where the very best minds in design, business, and public policy Congregate in Singapore, a literal island, to discuss how good design can and should transform businesses, communities, and our lives. As you may be well aware, we also launch Singapore Design Week on Monday. So you checked in you probably have one of these booklets. We've got over 80 programs and buy more than 70 partners collaborating to showcase and celebrate design and Singapore. It's our six run and this time we have carefully curated activities in four categories. Transform my business. That's clearly to you guys here. Empower my community. Inspire my every day and reimagining the future so that people from every background can learn about a [ UNKNOWN ] impact of design beyond just aesthetics. Specifically for people like you guys. You guys. We have not just bring some design but we also have an open studios program hosted by our local companies like if you're familiar DBS bank they just won best digital bags by euro money to design from [ UNKNOWN ] and Was responsible for the creation of the Apple retail stores, to share how design has transformed not only the way they work but also the way they map their future growth plans. I'm just giving you a glimpse into the exciting things happening here in our industries. The Design Week is actually one of our many initiatives as the Design Council Has in spearheading to highlight the value of desire for business. As you know, I move to the economic development board reflects the government's commitment to design. It's a key enabler for economic transformation, that's we reinvent ourselves for the next economy. I was just told this morning that few Companies on the planet do this, and we are heartened to know that we can say that we are really doing it. Singapore is uniquely placed, we are a global leader in design and innovation. We are the gateway between the east and the west. Our history of innovating out of our constraints, and our openness, the collaboration, and trends in the midst of a rapidly growing Asia pack Market makes us an exciting ground for new ideas and possibilities innovation and friendly environment really nice people and really nice people has also encouraged global companies such as [ INAUDIBLE ] which you saw yesterday, visa [ UNKNOWN ] Johnson and Johnson just to name a few. To establish a headquarter so an innovation center here. Home grown companies too like AC Engineering and Sports Open land are also harnessing desire to transform themselves. And for us to [ INAUDIBLE ] has actually always been one of flux a constant design, a redesign And these companies make up our versioning design innovation system, ecosystem, so just given the craziness of the world today and certain economic [ UNKNOWN ] as well as lot to mention and [ UNKNOWN ] on many traditional businesses, it review the perfect time to discuss a variable design that design bring our companies the option to present. For us to expand and just be able to dream big. [ COUGH ] [ BLANK_AUDIO ] Well we believe that Singapore is a great place for exploring such ideas. So we at the council are eager to hear any idea you may have, no matter how wild. Just as ideation is one of the fundamental parts of design. I think no idea is a bad one. And we are always looking for moon shots here. So do come talk to us to explore any possibilities for collaboration.
