[ MUSIC ] Amazon has released a new product. It's called the fireTV stick. It's a Google Chromecast competitor [ LAUGH ] and it's awfully cheap. Erin, do we need another piece of Amazon hardware? I think this is going to be successful, first of all, because it is inexpensive, even cheaper for Prime members. And so that competes with the Google Chromecast. Sure. Which has already taken away a lot of market share from the existing competitors, like Roku. Or Apple TV. The problem is that Amazon has a very mixed track record with hardware. The Kindle has been a huge success. The Amazon Fire phone, not so much. It's terrible. Probably one of the biggest failures that they've had as a product launch. Right. The Amazon Fire TV, the jury's still out. It's a little bit too early to say, but I, I think that it's looking good. They doubled the amount of apps on there and they seem to be eating away at market share, so. This is just an extension of that. See, the thing that's interesting about this whole kind of war that's going on kind of over your television is that, it's not about the TV or the Donegals or anything I know at all. It's really about the content ecosystem. So Amazon clearly wants you to buy into their Prime membership. It costs money to join, but then you can get streaming as well. Right. It's pretty fast shipping. They'll battling against Google, and Apple in this regard. And of course a little bit Roku. Right, right. But here's the problem with that. The problem is that they're entering a dying like industry, you know? There's already 20 million Rokus out there. People aren't going to buy another device here. They're just gonna get smart TVs and Amazon is already late to that game. But, these content eco systems aren't dying. So, okay. They'll move allot or these fire TV sticks and just like Google move a lot Chrome. Right. It's a short term game, but, they'll- Exactly. But the the important thing is the eco system. So no matter what pice of hardware goes out, they'll get you to buy it and have an account with them. And, that's the important thing.
