ISTANBUL, Türkiye, November 3, 2026 (EZ Newswire) -- Vera Clinic, an Istanbul-based hospital focused on hair transplantation, has published the first patient-level outcome data for Vector-10™, the first CVD lab-grown diamond blade used in hair transplant surgery. The six-month analysis, conducted by Vera Clinic Academy, the hospital's research and training division, followed 30 patients treated during the blade's first month of clinical use.

Recapping the Vector-10™ Diamond Blade

Launched by Vera Clinic in March 2026, Vector-10™ is a hair transplant blade manufactured from lab grown diamond through chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Doctors use it to create the small incisions on the scalp that receive each transplanted graft. In repeated-use testing by CinarLabs, an independent validation laboratory, the blade retained its structural integrity over 150,000 uses and kept its edge many times longer than conventional blade materials. Because that testing was performed on a test medium rather than on patients, the six-month analysis offers the first view of how this durability carries over into surgery.

What Six Months of Patient Data Show

For years, progress in hair transplant blades has been defined by hardness. Steel was replaced by sapphire, and sapphire is now being replaced by diamond, which sits at 10 on the Mohs scale as the hardest known mineral. With no harder material left to move to, the pursuit of hardness has effectively reached its limit.

That shifts the question facing the industry. Future advances in blade technology are less likely to come from new materials than from evidence about the hardest one: how reliably it performs, how long its edge lasts, and what that means for patient outcomes. CVD manufacturing is central to this. Unlike natural stone, lab-grown diamond can be produced to exact, repeatable specifications, so every blade meets the same standard.

The six-month results from Vera Clinic Academy offer a first answer: patients treated with Vector-10™ had retained an average of 94.4% of their transplanted grafts, and none required a surgical re-intervention. Results stayed broadly consistent regardless of how advanced the hair loss was, from 95.4% in the earliest stages to 92.0% in the most advanced. All patients in the analysis were treated by the same doctor and surgical team, so the results reflect one consistent surgical approach. Twelve-month outcomes for the same group will be published once follow-up concludes.

"What stands out in these first results is consistency: graft survival remained high at every stage of hair loss, from the earliest to the most advanced. Grafts continue to mature for up to a year, so we're optimistic that the 12-month results will be even more encouraging," said Dr. Emin Gül, a hair transplant doctor at Vera Clinic.

About Vera Clinic

Based in Istanbul, Vera Clinic is a hospital focused on hair transplantation and is widely regarded as one of the leading innovators in Turkey’s hair restoration sector. The clinic was among the first to adopt the Sapphire FUE technique and created Vector-10™, the first hair transplant blade made from CVD lab-grown diamond. Through its research and education arm, Vera Clinic Academy, the hospital carries out continuous clinical studies and provides training for physicians, while every patient’s treatment is guided by a doctor from start to finish. Vera Clinic’s work has been recognized with several international honors, among them the European Award in Medicine for Best Hair Transplant Clinic in Turkey (2021), an iF Design Award for its clinic architecture, and the WhatClinic Patient Satisfaction Award.
