Emory University’s Goizueta Business School is launching an online executive MBA program, which will be one of the first of its kind offered by a top-ranked school. The online program will join Goizueta’s existing executive MBA formats—a hybrid and an in-person program that’s ranked No. 23 by Fortune.

Goizueta’s online executive MBA is an effort to eliminate geographical constraints and offer a more flexible option for busy professionals. “Executive-level students have always had time constraints and having an online option meets this concern,” says Jaclyn Conner, associate dean of executive MBA programs at Goizueta Business School.

The fully online option will be taught by the same faculty members and include the same courses as the other formats. An online format also will allow more international students to enroll at the school, enhancing the diversity within the cohort of executive MBAs, Conner adds.

The school expects to admit 60 students at most to its first online cohort, which will begin in Fall 2022, and is accepting applications now. Professionals should have at least eight years of work experience and must be employed in a full-time role to be considered for admission.

The online program will be offered on evenings and weekends and will span over 18 months. Goizueta is partnering with Emeritus, a company that partners with more than 50 universities around the world to offer online certificates and programs, to facilitate the program.

“We’re committed to preparing principled leaders to have a positive influence on business and society, and this is bringing us one step closer to fulfilling that mission on a global scale,” Ed Leonard, senior associate dean for graduate programs at Goizueta Business School, said in a press release.
