Titles included in this roundup: CEOs (Chief Executive Officers), COOs (Chief Operating Officers), CFOs (Chief Financial Officers), CTOs (Chief Technology Officers), CHROs (Chief Human Resources Officers), and Chief People Officers. We also include CIOs (Chief Information Officers), CMOs (Chief Marketing Officers), and Chief Customer Officers when there are Power Moves within the Fortune 500 announced pertaining to those roles.

- ConocoPhillips (No. 75) promoted CFO and EVP of Strategy and Commercial Andy O’Brien to President and CEO, effective Sept. 1. O’Brien has been with the company since 1997 and will succeed Ryan Lance, who will retire and serve as transitional executive chair. Food, beverages, and tobacco
- Conagra Brands (No. 381) named Amy Held to the newly created role of Chief Administrative Officer, effective Sept. 14. As part of the role, Held will oversee human resources as CHRO Charisse Brock prepares to retire in October after 20 years with Conagra. Held most recently was CHRO at The Simply Good Foods Company and previously spent more than a decade at J.M. Smucker (No. 456).
Health care
- Zoetis (No. 434) appointed James “Jay” Saccaro to the newly created combined role of EVP, CFO, and COO, effective Aug. 17. Saccaro most recently was CFO of GE HealthCare Technologies (No. 217) and previously served as CFO of Baxter International (No. 382). He will succeed CFO Wetteny Joseph, who will transition to a special advisor role focused on financial matters through early 2027.
Industrials
- Emerson Electric (No. 245) named Rudy Sengupta SVP and Chief Technology and AI Officer, effective Aug. 15. Sengupta currently serves as VP and General Manager, Test and Analytics Software of the Emerson Test and Measurement division and will succeed Peter Zornio, who will retire at the end of the year after two decades with Emerson.
- AGCO (No. 417) named Indira Agarwal CFO. Agarwal previously served as Chief Accounting Officer of the company, and earlier served as Chief Accounting Officer and Controller at HF Sinclair (No. 171). She succeeded Damon Audia, who transitioned to President of PTx and Corporate Strategy.
Materials
- Steel Dynamics (No. 244) appointed Theresa Wagler CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2027. She will succeed cofounder Mark Millett, who will transition to executive chairman. Wagler has been with the company since 1998. Richard Poinsatte, EVP and Treasurer of the company, will succeed Wagler as CFO.
Retailing
- Best Buy (No. 113) appointed Anne Bramman EVP and CFO, effective Aug. 19. Bramman most recently served as Chief Financial and Growth Officer at Circana and served as CFO of Nordstrom (No. 291) and Avery Dennison (No. 448) earlier in her career. She will succeed Matt Bilunas, who left the retailer in July after seven years in the role.
- CarMax (No. 162) announced that EVP and Chief Innovation and People Officer Diane Cafritz will leave the company on Dec. 31, but will stay on through a six-month consulting agreement beginning Jan. 1, 2027. She has been with the company since 2003. CarMax did not disclose a successor or give a reason for Cafritz’s exit.
Technology
- CDW (No. 205) announced that CFO Albert Miralles plans to retire in 2027 after five years in the role. He will remain in the role until a successor is appointed, then advise the company through the transition. During his career, he previously held finance roles at Nationwide (No. 69).
- CACI International (No. 459) promoted Marcie Small to EVP and CHRO, succeeding Angie Combs, who retired. Small has spent 15 years at CACI and most recently served as SVP, Talent Acquisition and Growth.
Wholesalers
- W.W. Grainger (No. 248) announced that SVP and CFO Deidra Merriwether will leave the company on Sept. 4. She is headed to Arrow Electronics (No. 148) to fill the new role of President and COO, effective Sept. 8. Laurie Thomson, VP and Controller of W. W. Grainger, will become its Interim CFO, effective the following day. Thomson has been with W. W. Grainger since 2008 and previously worked at CVS Health (No. 6).
