The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel actress and producer Rachel Brosnahan said the opportunity to pay her success forward was a big motivator in her decision to launch her own production company early last year.

Brosnahan, best known for playing the titular character in Amazon’s streaming series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, told the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit on Monday that her production company, Scrap Paper Pictures, focuses on bringing new voices into the industry.

“I’m the beneficiary of a lot of people at various points in my life and career saying yes to me, taking chances on me,” Brosnahan said. “It’s really important to me at this stage to be able to pay that forward.”

Brosnahan says the highlight of launching Scrap Paper Pictures has been working with new writers and directors and bringing those talents to a big studio like Amazon, which has a first look deal with the company. Scrap Paper Pictures, launched in January 2020, focuses on following a project from the “germ of an idea all the way to completion,” she said.

Scrap Paper Pictures was the force behind Yearly Departed, an all-female comedy special that first aired last year. But Brosnahan noted there’s still a “ton of work to do” to get more women into the industry.

Amazon announced Monday that the studio was picking up a second installment of Yearly Departed. Additionally, Scrap Paper Pictures has the comedy series Am I There Yet? in the works at Amazon.

“It’s been an incredible journey,” Brosnahan said. “It’s been so gratifying, and we’re so young. We’re just getting started.”
