President Donald Trump and his campaign team were busily responding while former Special Counsel Robert Mueller appeared before the House Judiciary Committee Wednesday.
Trump sent out a series of tweets prior to and during the hearing, including doubling down on his claims that the report found “NO COLLUSION, NO OBSTRUCTION!”
But that’s not all. Trump’s campaign team took the opportunity to fundraise off of the hearing.
Trump supporters received a fundraising email during the hearing on Wednesday, which encouraged them to “send a HUGE message to all of the Trump Haters by raising $2,000,000 in the NEXT 24 HOURS.”
Like Trump’s tweet, the email similarly claims that there was “no collusion, no obstruction, [and] complete and total exoneration.”
“Nothing about the report has changed, so WHY are they still pursuing this Nasty Witch Hunt?” the email reportedly reads. “Robert Mueller is testifying … right now, and the Democrats and Corrupt Media are going to pull out all the stops to try and TRICK the American People into believing their LIES.”
A similar message was sent to supporters via text, which read, “There was NO COLLUSION! Let’s tell the Dems to end this WITCH HUNT by raising $2,000,000 in 24 HOURS!”
