How to Turn Yourself Into a PR Machine

It used to be that entrepreneurs and business leaders needed the media to write about them in order to get some publicity. While that still helps, it’s not the only option.

Content is king these days, and if you’re not creating some of your own, you’re missing out on a great opportunity to market yourself and your business. Lindsay Nahmiache, co-founder of public relations firm Jive PR + Digital, says that instead of constantly pitching the media about what you are up to, you can start writing about a topic or industry important to you and become someone that a journalist goes to for commentary.

To do that, start by setting up a blog on your own website, then share it on blogging platforms such as LinkedIn and Medium.

“Over time, you develop more and more credibility and more journalists are going to find you when they need comment on their story,” Nahmiache says.
