Donald Trump confirmed Monday that he bid $1 billion for the Buffalo Bills two years ago, reports ESPN’s Mike Rodak.

Trump, the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination, made the statement at a rally at the First Niagara Center. He was introduced by Bills head coach Rex Ryan at the event.

The candidate lost his 2014 bid to Sabres owners Terry and Kim Pegula.

When discussing the bid on Monday, Trump said, “That tells you, I love Buffalo.”

The rally was later halted by a protest.
