Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has led the Republican fight to avoid approving Merrick Garland—or any other candidate nominated by President Obama—to the Supreme Court. Over the last week, he’s been front and center explaining why he doesn’t think a justice should be seated until after a new president has been elected.
Now one rock band has set the senator’s objections to music.
Coheed and Cambria is a band from New York state’s Hudson River Valley. They’re not usually a political band—nearly every album they’ve released is part of a multipart science fiction epic. But for the second time, the group has teamed up with Funny or Die to wade into the Supreme Court debate.
Last year, Coheed and Cambria recorded another song using phrases from late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s decisions on gay marriage and the Affordable Care Act. While the music from their newest video is arguably just as good, most listeners will notice that McConnell is not quite the inadvertent lyricist that Justice Scalia was.
