Donald Trump Threatens to Send Supporters to Bernie Sanders Rallies

Donald Trump on Sunday threatened to send his supporters to disrupt the campaign rallies of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, whom he has blamed for the chaos at his own events.

The Republican front-runner blasted Sanders for saying he had no part in the unrest after accusing the Vermont senator of telling supporters to attend his campaign rallies. “Bernie Sanders is lying when he says his disruptors aren’t told to go to my events,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Be careful Bernie, or my supporters will go to yours!”

Trump had said protesters, “many of them thugs,” caused him to cancel a rally in Chicago on Saturday after fights broke out between Trump supporters and protesters, some of whom were Black Lives Matter activists. Sanders insisted Trump’s own rhetoric is the cause of the violence during a Sunday appearance on CNN’s State of the Union. “I would hope my supporters will not disrupt meetings,” Sanders said. “We have millions of supporters, and people do things. But it was not our campaign.”

“This a man who keeps implying violence, and then you end up getting what you see,” Sanders added.
