Hillary Clinton is slated to win the Democratic primaries in both Virginia and Georgia while Bernie Sanders will take his home state of Vermont, according to CNN projections.
None of these results are terribly surprising; Clinton was expected to do well in moderate-to-conservative Georgia and Virginia while Sanders was not expected to lose on his home turf.
Winning these two states is particularly sweet for Clinton, who lost both of the states to Barack Obama during her failed run in 2008.
The delegates are apportioned based on vote total, but winning these two states is still a big negative for Sanders, who hasn’t yet won a state outside of his home base of the northeast.
