Pee-wee is back.
Netflix (NFLX) just released a trailer for its exclusive film, “Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday,” a comedy starring the fan-favorite goofball, Pee-wee Herman—teasing fans back into the slapstick though slightly dark world of the 1980s character.
The character, who hasn’t been the subject of a movie since 1988’s “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure,” is reprised by now 63-year-old Paul Reubens in the trailer.
And if the film’s first full trailer is anything to go by, the film is going to be whimsically epic.
It follows Pee-wee Herman as he leaves his hometown for the first time, taking the adventure of his life leading him to play getaway driver, hitchhiker and out-of-place visitor in an Amish community.
On Twitter, fans are fanning the nostalgia. According to the @Peeweeherman account, fans crashed the Pee-wee Herman site after the full-length trailer was released.

Other fans noted how Reubens has maintained the same look for nearly three decades, which can be attributed to a digital retoucher Reubens hired to bring back his 1988 look for the movie, the New York Times reported.
The film was written by Reubens and Paul Rust (of Arrested Development fame), directed by John Lee, and produced in conjunction with Judd Apatow. Joe Manganiello of Magic Mike fame plays a supporting role.
The movie debuts on Netflix, March 18.
