The Hess truck’s back but you won’t find it at gas stations
Hess has officially unveiled its 2015 toy truck — a red fire truck with advanced new features including movable fire hose nozzles, a pivoting searchlight, sound effects, and a rotating extension ladder.
The latest addition to the Hess fleet will be priced at $30.99, a $1 increase from last year. As an additional incentive in the vein of Willy Wonka, 100 lucky winners will open their gifts to find a Silver Edition Fire Truck and Ladder Rescue.
This is the 51st year Hess’ toy trucks will be available, and it has become a holiday tradition for many over the years, with parents and grandparents rushing out to a Hess station to pick up the gift. But the trucks have outlived Hess locations. The oil company had 1,342 gas stations and convenience stores along the East Coast, but they have all been renamed following a $2.6 billion deal with Marathon Petroleum.
As a result, the toy trucks are no longer available at those locations, but Hess announced in a news release that the trucks will be available in ten malls as of November 12, including the Broadway Mall on Long Island, the Paramus Park Mall in New Jersey, and the Capital City Mall in Pennsylvania.
And, of course, you’ll be able to order them online as well. It will be available on the Hess toy truck website starting November 1.
