Britain's Queen Elizabeth II is greeted
Britain's Queen Elizabeth II is greeted by flag-waving well-wishers as she visits the City Varieties Music Hall in Leeds, West Yorkshire, northern England, on July 19, 2012 during her diamond jubilee tour. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh attended the topping out ceremony for Leeds Arena, where they met construction crews and apprentices before viewing musical and acrobatics performances, during the latest leg of the tour to mark her 60-year reign. Today, Queen Elizabeth II of England became the longest reigning monarch in U.K. history, passing her great-grandmother Victoria, who was queen for 63 years and 216 days.

It was not something “to which I have ever aspired,” she said in Scotland yesterday. “Inevitably a long life can pass by many milestones—my own is no exception.”

Here’s a look at some of the other numbers about her long reign as queen.

16: Countries that call Elizabeth II their queen (including Canada, Australia, and many tropical island nations)

56: Pence the royal family costs each Brit annually

30+: Corgis the queen has owned, all descended from one called “Susan”

8: The maximum number of corgis the Queen has had at one time

2: Corgis currently alive, as she is not replacing them anymore

2: Non-pure breed dogs she currently has, dachshund-corgis she calls “dorgis”

0: Passports owned by Elizabeth; they are issued by “Her Majesty” so she doesn’t need one

2,500: Wedding gifts Elizabeth II and Philip received upon their nuptials in 1947

1998: The year the she took a terrified Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Abdullah for a ride in a Land Rover

12: U.S. presidents that Elizabeth II has met

2,868: Diamonds featured in the Imperial State Crown worn by the queen, as well as 17 sapphires, 11 emeralds, and 269 pearls

11: British monarchs that have come before her

2: Properties the queen owns privately (Balmoral Castle and Sandringham House)

23: Wax likenesses of the queen featured at Madame Tussauds over the years
