The hardy group of attendees at Fortune’s Brainstorm Tech in Aspen who turned out at 7 a.m. for a grueling 25 mile bike ride to Maroon Bells and back were surprised by one unexpected guest: super biker Lance Armstrong.
Armstrong came as a guest of public relations guru Pamela Alexander, who is no slouch on a bike herself. She and Armstrong paced the cyclists up the mountain, along with a group that included NYSE CEO Tom Farley and Zynga CEO Mark Pincus.
Your correspondent fell somewhat behind, but made it to the top. It was a great way to start the morning — although we suspect Armstrong was holding back.
