SZ DJI Technology Co., a Chinese drone company, is worth $8 billion after its latest round of funding, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.

The latest round of investment is for $75 million, the biggest ever for the drone company, the paper said.

“We think [the drone sector] is still an early market, but one that we think is a new global technology category,” Sameer Gandhi, who led the investment for Accel, told the Journal. “This is the company we believe is going to be the leader in that category.”

Drones have been a hot topic in the tech world over the past year, as companies continue to look for business and recreational uses for the futuristic flying robots.
